This being marginally more than the u.k. where figures for those affected by the virus have been estimated at 0.3%. According to the same report, In the u.k. 60.45% of those affected did not survive. Figures for those who have passed away in the u.s. as a result of the virus are estimated at 0.2% of the population or nearly half of those affected. Must be a reflection on the healthcare systems in these superpowers, especially with regard to looking after the poor. In Italy, believed to also be a trouble spot, similar figures to the u.k., except that according to the report 68.6% of those affected by the virus have survived.

Looking after the vulnerable might be the key to curtailing the virus, and covid 19 statistics could be a good indicator of the effectiveness of each countrys’ health and social care systems.
