Hearing challenges covid 19 measures

Two individuals have challenged as called Emergency Measures in the Public Interest Act Covid 19 Act, and other emergency measures outlined in various acts listed in a report published this afternoon. Aimed at the temporary restrictions legislation, it is claimed the new emergency covid 19 restrictions are unconstitutional, amounting to a suspension of constitutional rights. The as called legislation was likened to a coup situation, and living under military control.

The hearing which was brought forward by two journalists who are believed to be seeking a judicial review, and who say they are acting in the interests of the people, was reported to have been heard this afternoon. The pair seek to have recently enacted legislation which involves restrictions on movement, particularly severe for the elderly, and many other restrictions believed to prohibit business transactions, quashed by a judge of the High Court. The as called preliminary application is said to be ongoing, although the judge who has reserved his decision according to news published, was reported as saying that the verdict would be given electronically; being emailed to the parties concerned, apparently inline with pandemic restrictions.
