Westport is described as Allergan’s largest and most complex production site. Opened in 1977. Some locals are concerned however about a chemical waste sign situated on a roundabout on the edge of the greenway, a few metres from the Allergan site. There are fears that chemical waste may infiltrate the water supply. A major cause for concern is the long term effects, especially for children growing up in the area.
Allergan have another manufacturing operation in Ireland, believed to be in Clonshaugh, Dublin.

The u.n. backed government of national accord and the death of democracy in Libya

The as called Government of National Accord is an emergency government proposed in 2012 to take over legislation in Libya. The General National Congress was the first party to be elected by popular vote in the aftermath of the Libyan civil war and the killing of Muammar Gadaffi and his son. Two years on, according to the u.n. they were not making any progress on their constitution. Another election was engineered and they were replaced by the as called House of Representatives although turnout was down 50%. Reason not fully understood.
