The Belfast agreement

The 25 years from the advent of the Belfast agreement has changed Ireland considerably. First off, republicans suspected of paramilitary activity were freed from prison, but there are stories of harrassment and a failure to access necessary services.

Republicanism in the south has been replaced by suzerainty. Former republicans have partnered with british counterparts in business and politics. Gaels who historically have had a hard time under british and celtic administration suffer discrimination. The uk idea of a british Ireland means many gaels have left, many people of foreign descent are settling in Ireland and gaels are actively discouraged from doing so.

Celts are now suffering discrimination with regard to housing and employment. Another problem is the rud propagating drugs, some of whom have settled in the south. Increased drug problems means that foreigners or unionists are favoured for employment.
