According to a report, the ukrainian deputy defence minister said that fighting in the Donestk city of Bakhmut has escalated as russian forces attempt to break through ukrainian defence lines. Reportedly, the latest uk intelligence report said that over the past four days the Wagner group took control of most of the eastern region of the city, while Ukraine who have destroyed key bridges crossing the Bakhmutta river hold the west.
According to the report, first hand accounts of conditions in the fields and trenches sugggest the ukrainian defence is hard to defend because of a concentration of russian troops amid conditions too muddy to use vehicles. Reportedly, Bakhmut has become a killing zone that is challenging for the russian mercenary group to continue their assault westward.
