Sudanese conflict

Sudan joined the u.n. in 1956. Reportedly the first Sudanese war began in 1955. In 2011 Sudan split forming the autonomous region of south Sudan consisting of 10 states. South Sudan got the oil reserves. The ensuing wars concerned disputed oil regions. The 1972 Addis Ababa accords agreed to share oil revenue. War broke out when the agreement failed to materialise. Over forty six percent of the population of Sudan live in poverty.
