According to a report, some of the pupils taken by gunmen in Kuriga have been freed. Reportedly, the school authorities said 280 children had been abducted, the army said 137 hostages had been freed by security forces in the early hours of Sunday morning. According to the report, the group was held for 17 days and atleast one teacher died in captivity.
