Post brexit migration northern Ireland

According to a report, an Ulster university economist said a post brexit change in immigration to northern Ireland is continuing. Reportedly, in 2022 27,016 people came to live or work in northern Ireland, data for 2023 isn’t available.

According to the report, in 2023 there were 13,583 new national insurance registrations for those entering northern Ireland, a slight decrease from 2022 but represents the second highest number recorded since 2007. Reportedly, there were 918 national insurance registrations from eu countries, 6,600 from Asia and 2,000 from Africa, primarily Nigeria.
