Port staff may soon return to work

A chief psni officer has said that there is no evidence to support claims that paramilitary groups are involved in threats and intimidation directed at staff involved in post Brexit checks in Belfast and Larne; also that there was no evidence of the gathering of information on port officials. According to the report there has been a psni presence in the ports throughout the Brexit transition period, which was increased on Monday night. Reportedly the european commision told its officials working in customs not to go to work on Tuesday but are continuing to monitor the situation.

The psni are seemingly concerned on the basis of a single piece of anonymous information. According to the officer, the psni will support port staff by the sharing of information, crime prevention advice and increased patrols.
