Plans see Drew Harris regain powers

According to a report, the new as called practical republican government coalition have agreed to the quite recently appointed garda commisioner Drew Harris, obe regaining power to appoint and promote staff within the force. According to the report there is strong opposition to the change. Previous plans discussed are gardai being released of all administrative work, and will be overseen.

Drew Harris was a member of the police service northern Ireland for 35 years. His father reportedly was killed by the provisional ira in 1989. He is said to have been appointed by an international selection committee. Reason stated was supposedly a series of as described scandals. Not really substantial but they monopolised the media for a time. The use of ira victims in order to reform is not agreed upon by all parties, and not believed to be conducive to healing.
