According to a report Ulster bank have said they are withdrawing from southern Ireland though they have an estimated 1.1 million customers and 88 branches in the south. Plans which do not include northern Ireland branches are a transfer of staff to the aib, along with the sale of commercial loans said to be worth €4 billion. According to the report, plans are at the discussion stage and no agreement has been reached.
