Election in Estonia

According to a report, the election in Estonia continues today, polling stations have been open since Monday. Estonia, a former member of the soviet union borders Finland, Sweden, Latvia and Russia.

Reportedly, the reform party of prime minister Kaja Kallas who was favourite to win have already conceded 28% of the vote, ekre the conservative people’s party have 21% and the centre party 18%. According to the report, the reform party are pro nato, ekra are the only party to raise concerns about sending more weapons to Kyiv. Reportedly, polling stations close at 6 pm local time, the results should be counted by midnight.

The people have spoken

Accommodation for asylum seekers

According to a report, as the tourist season begins the department of integration has begun contacting refugees who are living in hotels telling them they are being moved. Reportedly, an unknown number of contracts due to end at the end of April will not be renewed and the department is unable to say what kind of emergency accommodation will be provided. Reportedly, all affected residents will shortly receive a letter telling them their current temporary accommodation is coming to an end but they will be reccommended in another location in the coming weeks.

According to the report, the department of integration has contacted a u.n. agency, the international organisation for migration to seek assistance on planning emergency accomodation for asylum seekers, as procuring enough beds to keep pace with arrivals is very challenging. Reportedly, no firm proposals have emerged from the contact and all options are being explored including tents, office buildings and sports facilities.

According to the report, the government has approved a €20 million plan for the development of five large accommodation centres with the site for the stalled super prison, Thornton Hall expected to be the first to be developed. Reportedly, civil servants are being given funding of €50 million to develop projects for accommodation. According to the report, a new migration agency will look after the needs of migration in the future.

Evacuations

Reportedly, on Thursday Ukraine ordered vulnerable people to evacuate the city of Kupiansk on the north eastern front which is at risk of being taken over by russian forces. According to the report, the mandatory evacuation of families with children and people with mobility problems has begun due to intense shelling. Reportedly, the government of the Kharkiv region said that several localities including Kupiansk have been shelled by multiple rocket launchers.

Academics support judicial reform

According to reports, thousands have taken to the streets of Israel in protest of the government’s judicial reforms. Herod Antipas

John’s disciples took his body and buried it, then went and told Jesus. Herod Antipas died in exile in France or Spain not before 39 ordinary time.

G20 meeting

According to a report, a meeting of g20 foreign ministers is taking place in New Delhi on Thursday, the first time the u.s. secretary of state and the russian prime minister will be in the same room since the g20 meeting in Bali last July. Reportedly, representatives of 40 countries including non g20 members and multinational organisations are meeting to discuss the global economy.

Herod

The second temple was rebuilt by jewish men after returning from Babylon in 538 bc. It was destroyed by roman soldiers around 70 ordinary time.

Judea was a client kingdom of Rome. Herod I, called Herod the great was appointed king of the jews around 40 bc, largely because of his father who had been a client to the greek empire state and had good relations with Julius Caesar. He was probably palestinian. His mother converted to judaism. He is believed to have been born in Judea or his father’s birth place of Edom (southern Israel). His parents and Edomites are identified by a contemporary as being Idumaean (Arabian), possibly a political persuasion, also the majority of the population of western Judea. Probably from Iraq or Jordan.

Herod’s elder brother served as governor of Jerusalem, and Herod who was appointed a client general of Syria ruled Judea semi autonomously. He was known for his building works. The enclosure around the cave of the patriarchs, the port at Caesarea, the fort at Masada and the Herodium.

Jesus of Nazareth was born into the Herodian kingdom of Judah. Herod is attributed to an order to murder every male child two years and under in the vicinity of Bethlehem at the time of the birth of Jesus. A majority of Herodian biographers discount this. He died of a painful disease of unknown cause around 4 bc in Jericho.
