As somtimes called, spy Wednesday or holy Wednesday commemorates Judas Iscariot, one of the 12 main men around Jesus, making a deal with the thought to be greater sanhedrin. Some say he was bribed. According to the gospel of Mark, Judas tried to give the money back. Accounts are that he committed suicide. There is a gospel, as definition truth of Judas which has Egyptian influences. In ancient Egypt, the pharoah was believed to be destined for his own star after death. The recurring theme in the so called gospel of Judas is that everyone will have their own star. Spy Wednesday is followed by maundy Thursday which commemorates Jesus washing the feet of the main men, except Judas who had left according to the accounts. Little details. He may have been a political component. Peter protested and Jesus said, ‘unless I wash you, you can have no part of me’. Jesus said, ‘I have set an example that you should do as I have done for you. Very truly I tell you that no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him’.
Churchill said to tell miners to eat grass
Any visit to a war museum displaying world war uniforms will prove that men were considerably smaller then than today. Nutrition perhaps not being adequate. Churchill is believed to have told miners striking for more pay during the 1920’s, to eat grass. British council estates were reported to have been built to house soldiers home from the horrors of world war one. Many were unwell and suffering from ailments such as trench foot.
The bones of Jesus
As described family tombs were said to have been used from the bronze age in ancient Israel. They were hewn chambers or natural caves, and closed with a stone or stones. The tombs were often used for generations; bones being collected and put into as called burial boxes as time passed. Jesus was at first laid out in a rock cut tomb belonging to Joseph of Arimathea, Arimathea being a city in Judea.
The burial procedure was that after a certain length of time the bones of the deceased were put away, often into burial boxes which were marked with the names of the deceased. The discovery of what Israelis were said to have believed to be the tomb of Jesus occurred in east Jerusalem in 1980. An unearthed tomb contained a particular burial box believed to be inscribed with the name of Jesus. DNA testing seems to substantiate that the human remains in the box were not related. Said to have contained the remains of three people. Sources say one inscription on the box read, ‘Jesus, son of Joseph’. Israeli experts believe this to pertain to Jesus Christ because of the absence of a place name which was normal practice at the time, and necessary in order to identify the individual. For instance Jesus of Nazareth or Joseph of Arimathea. Protocol might only have been omitted if the individual had become known to everyone. The tomb, said to have been found as the result of a pre-building excavation in 1980, was believed to be a little kept secret until 2007. Details unknown.
Some believe other human remains in the box may have been his friend Mary Magdalene. The third person unknown.
Wider measures ensure social distancing, hand hygiene etc.
According to a recent report there are 4,435 confirmed cases of covid 19 in Sweden with 180 reported deaths. Young children in Sweden are still going to school though universities and secondary schools have been closed due to the epidemic. Shops, pubs and restaurants remain open in Sweden but are reported to be very quiet. People have to keep a distance of 2 metres from the bar according to the report, and must be seated. Should be social distancing.
Covid 19 cases in the u.s. are estimated at 120,000; fatalities reportedly surpassing 2000. High risk areas believed to be New York and Seattle. There is no interstate travel ban but New York has closed all bars, restaurants and anywhere people might congregate. States and cities can reportedly make their own decisions on what measures to introduce providing they stick to wider regulations; presumably social distancing and hygiene. Corona virus is said to be passed via droplets; sneezing, coughing etc. Masks should be worn if symptomatic.
Eco friendly to beat virus
According to a scientific study, corona virus is unable to live on copper surfaces for over four hours. Copper jewellery is believed to ease symptoms of arthritis. It is believed to be a fungicide an algicide and probably antibacterial. The corona virus can only exist on cardboard for 24 hours and during this time may dissipate rapidly according to the study. However, the virus is reported to be able to live on plastic and steel for up to three days.
Homelessness in Ireland 2020
Current homeless demographics differ from the past because figures used to represent individuals in emergency accomodation and those sleeping rough. Not so of late. The incidence of those having to sleep rough and the way they have been treated by the homeless executive is Ireland’s shame. The unacceptable situation of rough sleepers will hopefully be eased by the covid 19 crisis.
With regard to government figures, only about those living in emergency accomodation, about 60% of homeless children are reported to live in hotels and bed & breakfast accomodation. No figures for adults. This inspite of an as called self imposed government deadline promising to end the practice almost three years ago. Major problems perceived to be a lack of cooking and laundry facilities.
According to a recent report there are 540 more homeless people as of this year. The long term problem of little availability of accomodation of a reasonable standard has not been addressed. Other problems were little or no information on what an individual on rent supplement can afford, tennant’s rights going unnoticed because the landlord takes precedence and landlords continuing to rent out sub standard accomodation.
Substandard accomodation can also apply to social housing, mainly termed as emergency accomodation. Tennants needs are often not addressed amongst pressure to avail of what is passed off as emergency housing, rather than being brought up to standard.
The theory of Platonic love
The as called International Monetary Fund are all flexed to lend in the event of a proposed and indefinite complete lockdown which will surely bring the world to the brink of bankruptcy and could be the end for many businesses. Some governments are talking about financial aid packages of 18 billion pounds sterling, mainly used to fund a stay at home labour force whose orders are to isolate indefinitely. Some businesses however are adapting to the crisis, identifying specific needs or contributing in part to a better outcome.
One of Plato’s theories was the philosophy of Platonic love. According to Plato an individual who genuinely wants the best possible outcome in a situation reaches out to the universe and is given the means to effect a change for good. Specifically, the means are various character traits such as intuition, communication, wisdom etc. According to Plato, the characteristics do not belong to the individual but have to be continually accessed as required from a higher source. Christianity proposed to differ in that we develop new ways of coping which will become part of our characters.
Were the women delegates?
According to one source, Queen Elizabeth II spent her early years in Bulgaria, according to some, being groomed for the position of British monarch, although the facts presented were that her uncle King Edward VIII abdicated in 1936, when the previously divorced Wallis Simpson didn’t meet with approval from the church of England of which the Monarch is seen as head, leaving the father of Elizabeth II, George VI to be crowned.
King George VI was born Albert and known as Bertie. The house, as called Saxe, Coburg and Gotha, originally the house of Wettin, documented by some to be of German descent, in fact are a Bulgarian dynasty. Name changed to Windsor during the first world war, perhaps forgoing warring relatives. George VI was documented as the last emporer of India before devolution. Details unknown. He was documented as to have adopted the new title of head of the commonwealth. He married in 1923, five years after the war had ended. His wife Elizabeth Bowes Lyon appeared to be a supporter of Hitler during the war. She seemed to be a leading figure, her husband following behind. He was known to be a smoker and died of ischaemic heart disease at the age of 56.
George and Elizabeth are known to have had two daughters, Elizabeth II and Margaret. Elizabeth married Philip in 1947. From a believed to be staunch military family and intrigue, there were reports of untoward goings on during the second world war. His brother is listed to have trained with the notorious Curtis Lemay.
Is it best to carry on?
Italy are reported to be on the verge of a financial crisis, and the closing of all deemed to be non essential businesses is thought to be the cause. So called lockdown is in it’s third week in Italy yet the estimated death toll does not represent an improvement. Made to stay in reportedly already for 15 to 20 days, lockdown was said to now be extended indefinitely, leading to many complaints. Worries are for casual workers who are not deemed eligible for income support. There are some reports of people running out of food.
In Brazil, the government had a ‘Brazil can’t stop’ campaign, the prime minister saying he believed it was best to carry on. The death toll in Brazil has been estimated at 111 with a reported 4000 covid 19 cases.
Ecoterrorism and biological warfare
The virgin terraine around Cushlough, County Mayo, once was a remarkable, panoramic scenic drive of emerald green hills. Now the grass is beige and dying. A disease or chemicals?
There appears to be somthing wrong with the as called greenway from Westport to Mulranny and beyond. Once emerald green, now has expanses of brown earth where the grass won’t grow anymore.
Acts of ecoterrorism have included ruining coral reefs, and even worse, ruining water supplies which effects everything, jeopardising the health of the local community. There is a growing consensus that rivers in western Africa have been contaminated. Mainly the ebola river. In these days of bioterrorism, we can all relate to the situation in Africa.
