According to a report, Niger’s new regime have ordered the police to expel France’s ambassador. Reportedly, the visas of french ambassador Sylvain Itte and his family have been cancelled in response to actions contrary to Niger’s interests, including refusing to respond to an invitation to meet Niger’s new foreign minister. According to the report, a letter they sent him read the envoy ‘no longer enjoys the privileges and immunities attached to his status as a member of the diplomatic personnel in the french embassy.’
