According to a report, the algerian minister for foreign affairs has returned from a tour of Nigeria, Benin and Ghana, while his second in command made a parallel visit to Niamey where he held talks with the prime minister, Mahaman Lamine Zeine. Reportedly, Algeria who shares almost 1000 km of border with Niger is proposing a six month transition to civilian rule, the proposed political discussions is with the participation of all parties in Niger without exclusion. According to the report, Algeria who rejects a military solution implied they could not authorise use of their airspace in the case of a military operation.
