The new military leaders of Niger have asked that there be no military intervention in the country. According to a report, Niger hosted french and u.s. military bases and were seen as key partnèrs in a battle with eastern insurgents in the Sahel region.
There have been former coups in Burkina Faso and Mali. The coup in Burkina Faso has not deterred the insurgency of eastern delegates and according to western figures precipitated more attacks. Ten months after the coup in Mali an attack on a village of eastern insurgents resulted in hundreds of deaths. The rift in african countries and elsewhere such as Israel seems to be a conflict between pro western and pro arab delegations. The truth being both are exploitive.
