According to a report, Roberta Metsola, the newly elected president of the european parliament, known to be pro life has vowed to respect the chamber’s majority opinion in favour of abortion. Reportedly, last year the chamber passed a resolution declaring safe access to abortion as a human right, with 378 in favour and 255 against. A problem is pressure pro lifers have to contend with.
According to the report, the parliament stands for the rule of law. Reportedly, Roberta Metsola who will hold the office for 2.5 years , a Maltese politician has previously always voted pro life. Abortion is illegal in Malta.
