According to a report, recreational use of cannabis has been on the uprise in Germany and a new law is due to be voted on that will allow a person to possess 25g of cannabis in public places and 50g at home.
Reportedly the implication is the new law will allow the smoking of cannabis in many public places, a person will be allowed to keep up to three cannabis plants at home and cannabis will be available to buy in special clubs. Reportedly, the government want to eventually introduce licensed sale. According to the report, the new law aims to protect smokers from contaminated cannabis and cut the revenue of organised crime gangs, but concerns are that it will fuel drug use.
