Knesset vote for government authority

According to a report, the Israeli government have voted on a bill which aims to allow parliament to overule the supreme court. Reportedly, protesters against the bill attempted to break through the barricades in front of the Knesset on Monday, though on Tuesday the result of the vote on two amendments that will strengthen the government’s executive was 63 in favour, 47 against. According to the report, the vote was the first of three concerning government authority. Reportedly, the second and third readings are expected by the end of March.
