According to reports the uk labour party were the subject of a series of allegations of antisemitism, leading to an investigation in May 2019 by the equality and human rights commission. According to the ehrc report antisemitism was a problem within a labour party, known to be traditionally pro Palestinian from a humanist point of view and opposed to disproportionate Israeli defence strategies.
Reportedly, Keir Steimer who took leadership of the labour party in 2020, attended Reigate grammar school which became independent while he was a student, after which he studied at Leeds university followed by Oxford. According to reports he was awarded the queens counsel in 2002, and was head of the crown prosecution services from 2012-17 after which he was awarded knight commander of the order of bath, a royal honour, reportedly awarded for service at the monarch’s faith.
