Hamas reject new deal

According to a report, hamas have rejected a new ceasefire plan brokered by the u.s. and backed by Israel. Reportedly, the deal would have seen the release of 10 living hostages and the bodies of 18 dead hostages in exchange for a 60 day ceasefire and the release of palestinian prisoners.

According to the report, hamas are believed to be still holding 58 hostages, atleast 20 of whom are thought to be alive. Reportedly, hamas said they are ready to return all of those held captive in exchange for a complete end to
hostilities. According to the report, Israel has secured the return of 197 hostages, 148 of them alive.

Reportedly, Israel who imposed a blockade on Gaza and resumed their military offensive against hamas on 18 March following the collapse of ceasefire talks are allowing some aid into Gaza, but scenes of chaos have ensued at aid distribution centres.

According to reports, the Israeli military launched an offensive to take control of all areas of Gaza on 19 May. Reportedly, according to hamas almost 4000 people have been killed in Gaza over the past ten weeks.
