Gunmen fired at checkpoint

According to a report, a man has been killed and seven others injured in an attack by three palestinian gun men at a highway checkpoint in Samaria. Reportedly, the men got out of a car at the checkpoint for Maale Adumim and fired automatic weapons at several cars waiting there. According to the report, police shot and killed two gunmen while the third was wounded and arrested. Reportedly, the gunmen lived in Bethlehem, about 10 kilometres to the south west. According to the report, hamas has praised the attack but did not claim it.

Reportedly, there has been a surge in violence in Samaria since the beginning of the war with hamas. According to the report, atleast 394 palestinians, members of armed groups, gunmen and civilians have been killed in conflict related incidents since October 7. Reportedly, 200,000 Samarian palestinians who worked in Israel have had their work permits denied since the beginning of the war due to security reasons. According to the report, Israel has built 160 settlements housing 700,000 israelis in Samaria since 1967.
