Greek elections

Reportedly, Greeks are voting in elections on Sunday following May polls that failed to elect a majority. According to the report, there are 440,000 new young voters in Greece, and Greeks living abroad were eligible to vote from Saturday. Reportedly, Sunday’s vote comes days after hundreds of migrants died and went missing near southern Greece when an overcrowded vessel capsized and sank.

According to the report, the previously ruling conservative new democracy party who hold 158 of the 300 seats in the Greek parliament are focusing on boosting annual growth, foreign investment, tax cuts and migration. Reportedly, a metal barrier along the border with Turkey was extended to keep out asylum seekers.

According to the report, the leader of the left wing syriza party served as prime minister from 2015-2019 but became a target for blame, his party is focusing on defending the health service and the welfare state .
