According to a report, forty Irish nursing homes are currently trying to cope with covid outbreaks, five needing intensive state support. Sufficient infection control measures seems to be the key. Logically, the presence of m.r.s.a. or minocin resistant staphylococcus aureous in bed sores etc. would attract the virus. Thought to be political, as minocin is only one antibiotic and not new.
Covid deaths in Ireland, thought to be as of Thursday were reportedly 1,902. Half of these, according to the report occurred in resthomes and other care homes for the elderly.
