The as called White Helmets, known to be a British organisation and documented to be operating in parts of Syria and Turkey, who were formed reportedly due to the war in Syria, are said to be operating in Syrian government opposition controlled areas. Not believed to be impartial. The White Helmets were reportedly banned from entering Kurdish controlled areas of Syria.
They are self-named the Syria civil defence. Their activity is reported to be search and rescue and delivery of supplies. Their main source of funding is reportedly from the united kingdom foreign and commonwealth office. According to documentation, between 2014 and 2018 the white helmets received funding of €127 million; the u.s. providing around €33 million.
In June 2018, reportedly the Trump administration released €6.6 million to be shared between the white helmets and the u.n. who say they are impartial.
