Extortionate interest rates lead to bank closures in Lebanon

Hezbollah, a contingent in the middle east reportedly goes unrecognised by Britain. Thought to have been voted in in Lebanon in 2005, according to news recently, the government seemingly consists of a coalition with an as called christian bloc.

A leader of the christian church in Lebanon is criticising the government and calling for new elections; believed to be ecumenical. Citizens via western media accuse the government of corruption, but in a recent interview a Lebenese man told media Hezbollah were not believed to be the guilty ones.

Lebanon’s financial crisis reportedly stems from rebuilding works caused by bombardments during the war years being left uncompleted, and disagreements regarding payment, leading to extortionate interest rates.
