European union candidate countries

According to a report, the irish taioseach met the croation prime minister on Tuesday in Dublin. Reportedly, they discussed the war in Ukraine, the economy and future enlargement of the eu. According to a report, Mr Varadker said that the russian invasion of Ukraine will speed up enlargement of the european union. Reportedly, Mr Varadker said that aspiring countries who meet the criteria will be allowed to join without further delay, “The war has had an ongoing impact on neighbourhood policy in the region. There hasn’t been a new member of the eu for quite some time” he said.

According to the report, Croatia applied for eu membership in 2003 and was in negotiations from 2005 to 2011 when they signed the treaty. Ukraine, Moldova, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro and Serbia are all eu candidate countries. Turkey is also a candidate. Kosovo is a self declared independent country. Though most members of the eu recognise Kosovo’s declaration of independence from Serbia, several eu countries did not.
