According to a report, ecowas met on Thursday to discuss details of a stand by force. Reportedly, ecowas was innitially formed from the region’s french and british colonies. The 15 member countries were Mali, Niger, Burkina Faso, The Gambia, Ghana, Sierra Leonne, Guinea, Guinea Bassau, Nigeria, Togo, Benin, Cabo Verde, Ivory Coast, Senegal and independent Liberia. Reportedly, ecowas have previously intervened militarily in Liberia and Gambia. According to a report, the civil war in Liberia occurred following the appointment of the first non american liberian president. The conflict in Ghana is ongoing.
