According to a report, a Dehli politician was arrested on charges of irregularities in a new alcohol policy. Reportedly, the now void policy ended the government’s monopoly on liquor sales. According to the report, the court has extended indian opposition leader, Arvind Kejriwal’s custody until Monday. Reportedly, Mr Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi party (aap) has accused the prime minister of a political vendetta.
According to the report, Mr Kejriwal was arrested last week amid criticism from opposition parties that the government was using agencies to cripple their parties. Reportedly, India’s opposition Congress party said their bank accounts had been frozen. According to the report, an alliance of more than 20 opposition parties have arranged a protest rally against his arrest, to take place on Sunday.
