Conflict in Nagorno-Karabach

According to a report, the Azerbaijan army has moved towards the major city of Karabakh as Armenians flee. Reportedly, many families have been seperated and many do not know if their relatives are alive. According to the report, atleast 200 Armenians of Karabakh and 100 Azerbaijan soldiers have been killed this week.

Reportedly, there have been boundary conflicts between Armenians and Azerbaijan since the fall of the russian empire which coincided with the end of the first world war. According to reports, the three main ethnic groups in the region tried to get on, but following an attempt to form a government the region split into Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia. Reportedly, the british backed Azerbaijan in the Paris peace convention of 1920 which rewrote the map of europe and elsewhere.

According to reports, thousands have lost their lives in wars in Karabakh. Reportedly, the first war between Armenians living in Karabakh and the Azerbaijan republic backed by the soviet union resulted in an Armenian victory. According to the report, the region’s parliament voted in favour of uniting with Armenia, but a public referendum voted in favour of independence and the Artsakh republic was born.

The second war in Artsakh/Karabakh erupted in 2020. Reportedly, Azerbaijans were accused of ethnic cleansing. According to reports, an Azerbaijan victory resulted in clashes with the police and territorial conflict.
