Reportedly a thousand businesses in Mayo, Sligo and Galway have asked the government for help to keep Knock (Gnoc) Ireland West Airport open. 807,000 passengers are believed to have travelled through the airport last year. According to the report, passengers this July and August are down 88%. Airport staff have been laid off and losses encrued due to corona virus restrictions may not be reimbursed.
A question is whether the virus can be transmitted from a person without symptoms. The answer was at first no according to the as called World Health Organisation and others. Then came a differing response followed by stringent rules. With regard to curtailing the virus, visitors from northern Ireland have no officialdom to contend with, neither do freight.
