Cabinet meeting

According to a report, the israeli prime minister said Israel is making progress on a deal that could result in the release of some hostages. Reportedly, he has a cabinet meeting in light of developments related to the release of hostages, after the meeting set for 1800 local time (1600 gmt) he has other government meetings and said he was hopeful for a potential deal that could see the release of some hostages. According to the report, hamas said they are close to reaching a truce agreement raising hopes for a pause in hostilities. Reportedly, the humanitarian organisation icrc who helped facilitate previous hostage deals has been meeting hamas leaders.

According to the report, fighting is continuing in Gaza with Israel surrounding the city of Jabalia in the north. Reportedly, Gaza’s hamas run health ministry said over 13,300 people have died during the fighting including 5000 children.
