Attackers detained

According to a report, four people involved in the Moscow attack have been detained in the Bryansk region. Reportedly, atleast 93 people were killed and 140 injured in the attack at the Crocus city hall in the Krasnogorsk suburb of Moscow.

60 die in concert attack

According to a report, islamic state have attacked a concert hall on the outskirts of Moscow, killing atleast 60 people and injuring 100. Reportedly, Crocus city hall was about to begin a rock concert when atleast four heavily armed gunmen dressed in camouflage gear entered the foyer and theatre firing bullets. According to the report, the building which was hosting 6,000 people for a concert by rock band, Picnic was set on fire when the attackers threw petrol bombs, and part of the roof collapsed. Reportedly, the violence erupted moments before the band was due to come on stage.

According to the report, u.s. officials said they had obtained intelligence that said islamic state were planning to attack Russia. It isn’t certain whether the attack was linked to Russia’s presence in Africa. Reportedly, islamic state have claimed responsibility.

News Israel

According to a report, Russia and China have blocked a u.s. proposed u.n. security council resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.

Reportedly, israel said they would go ahead with their military offensive in Rafah. According to the report, the israeli military said they had killed 140 people they described as terrorists in the raid on Al-Shifa hospital which began on Monday.

Overnight attack

U.n. vote on ceasefiire

According to a report, the u.s. secretary of state was in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday and Egypt on Thursday to discuss a post war plan to govern Gaza with a number of arab leaders. Reportedly, he is now in Israel and will be meetings with the israeli prime minister. According to the report, a u.n. vote is scheduled for today on a u.s. draft that supports calls for an immediate ceasefire and the release of hostages. Reportedly, talks on the matter resume in Qatar today.

Hunger in Haiti

Reportedly, around 100 families live in a condemned building that used to be a cinema in Port-au-Prince where there is no water or toilet facilities. According to the report, Port Haitien was already trying to cope with water and power problems but is comparatively calm as gangs were removed by police operations.

Reportedly, the missiles caused falling debris and fires and atleast 17 people, including a child were injured. According to the report, on Wednesday atleast 5 people were killed in an attack on Kharkiv, and more than 150 people were forced to leave the Sumy region after a sustained attack. Reportedly, the president of Ukraine has asked for more air defence systems. According to the report, eu leaders are meeting to talk about military aid to Ukraine.

Reportedly, in Russia, 16 people were killed in a series of attacks on the border city of Belgorod. According to a report, following a win in the presidential election the president of Russia gave a speech in Moscow’s Red Square heralding the return of Crimea to Russia. Reportedly, the election has been condemned by the uk, Germany and the u.s. but supported by China, India and Saudi Arabia.

Brain chips

According to a report, Elon Musk’s brain chip company, Neurolink has implanted a chip into the brain of Noland Arbaugh who was paralysed below the shoulders following a diving accident. Reportedly, this enabled Mr Arbaugh to use a cursor, who said he used the chip to play a video game and online chess. According to the report, Neurolink’s device is about the size of a one pound coin, it can read neuron activity and beam back a wireless signal.

Reportedly, other companies have used chips in paralysed people to enable them to walk by placing chips in the brain and spine which wirelessly communicates to the legs and feet.

According to the report, every time we want to think, speak or move, an electric impulse is generated and sent quickly from one neuron to another, scientists have developed devices that can detect some of those signals. Reportedly, the technology generates millions of dollars for research.

Leo Varadker steps down

According to a report, Leo Varadker said he is stepping down as taoiseach and fine gael leader. Reportedly, speaking from Leinster House he said Ireland had become a more equal and modern place, especially for women and lgbt people. According to the report, he said his reasons for stepping down were both personal and political and that he believed a new taoiseach would be better placed for the future of the country. Reportedly, he will remain as taoiseach until a new party leader is elected after easter.

According to the report, in 2011 he was appointed as minister for transport by Enda Kenny, he became minister for health in 2014, and taoiseach in 2017, the youngest person to hold the post. Reportedly, the announcement has caught many of his party colleagues by surprise.
