According to a report the exchange of fire between Hamas and Israel has resulted in criticism of both sides. Reportedly the conflict began with hamas who fired rockets into Israel in protest at the threatened evictions of Palestinians in Sheikh Jarrah, east Jerusalem and clashes on the Temple Mount.

Reportedly the battle in May was resulted in the deaths of 129 Palestinian civilians including women and children and thought to be ten Israelis. Among Israeli targets were said to be four high rise buildings. According to a report warnings were given and there were no fatalities though businesses and homes were destroyed including the Al Jazeera and u.s. based AP news agency offices.

According to reports al qaeda was founded by Osama bin Laden, a saudi Arabian in 1988 in Pakistan to fight in the Afghan soviet war. Al qaeda were reportedly implicated in two bombings occurring simultaneously in u.s. embassies in Tanzania and Kenya in 1998. Reportedly he went back to Saudi Arabia to try to find a job as a pilot. He was said to have been turned down at the civil aviation school in Jeddah.

Of the nineteen hijackers four were reportedly known by the CIA. According to a report two of the hijackers fought for muslims in the Bosnian war. They and others were said to have been chosen by Osama bin Laden to take part in a mission to pilot commercial airliners into the world trade centre buildings, the pentagon and the Whitehouse, but the fourth plane reportedly crashed.

One of the hijackers was reportedly photographed at an al qaeda summit in Kuala Lumpur with another who was believed to have been involved in the bombing of the u.s. navy ship uss Cole in October 2000. Everyone was turning to catholicism and reportedly in 387 Augustine and Adiodatus were baptised. According to reports Monica died and Augustine and Adiodatus returned to north Africa. Soon after Adeodatus died. Augustine reportedly sold his estate, gave the money to the poor and in 391 was ordained a priest, later becoming the bishop of Hippo. Along with saint Paul he is said to have been a major influence on the early church.

Amongst his writings was a book entitled ‘The City of God against the Pagans’. Themes reportedly were; suffering of the righteous, the existence of evil, the existence of free will versus an all knowing god and original or ancestral sin. Thought to be in his later years a controversy was a belief that an individual acts in good faith by God’s grace rather than by choice. Augustinian teaching is upheld in the protestant church, especially his theology of salvation and divine grace.

According to a report the taliban issued a blanket amnesty on Tuesday said to be for all who cooperated with America and the western backed government, though thousands are believed to have already left the country. Reportedly the public and officials are being encouraged to go back to work.

According to a report British concern that soviet Russia might mount an offensive against British India via Afghanistan resulted in the Anglo-Afghan wars beginning 1839. The treaty of Gandamak, 1879 was reportedly signed during the second Afghan war. Resulted in territories, now part of Pakistan being taken over by the British Raj. Reportedly as part of the agreement Afghanistan was to conduct foreign relations according to British advice and wishes. The treaty which resulted in more fighting was followed by the Durand line, an agreement said to be between British India and Afghanistan which ceded part of Pashtun territory to British rule. Reportedly the Durand line was recognised by Afghan president Mohammed Khan in 1976. According to reports he was killed in the presidential palace along with other family members in 1978 by military officers from Afghanistan’s communist party. Lead to ten years of conflict with soviet Russia who were said to have intervened on behalf of the new government and fought with the mujahideen in Afghanistan.

Reportedly many of the Afghan mujahideen were from Peshaware now Pakistan, possibly of Pashtun heritage. Others were said to be of an Iranian cultural group. Said to be formed as a political group with a communitarian ideology based on Islamic law at Kabul university, they reportedly became the taliban.

According to current news, the mayor of Kabul and other officials are returning to work. Reportedly a taliban spokesperson has said the new government will be Islamic and all sides should join. According to reports some women will be disappointed at the taliban’s return. A spokesman for the taliban said they will not be against women’s education.

According to reports hundreds of Afghans, diplomats and officials, some said to have cooperated with allied forces are hoping to flee the country. Reportedly the taliban have taken over the presidential palace in Kabul and the president who was said to be in favour of a power share has left. The taliban who have reportedly taken over all major cities have ordered militants to abstain from violence.

According to a report the uk secretary for defence has said the uk will not be returning to Afghanistan. Reportedly Britain have deployed military personnel to aid people leaving and are expecting a number of asylum seekers. The u.n. are said to be staging emergency talks with the taliban in Afghanistan this morning. According to a report the un employ about 3000 Afghans and around 720 international staff working on Afghanistan.
