Ambitious oil and gas plans

Described as the most ambitious oil and gas plans ever seen in Ireland, reportedly three major liquified natural gas terminals off the coast of Mayo, Cork and Drogheda are being considered. A further plan mentioned is to build what was described as Europe’s largest gas storage facility off the coast of Cork. Reportedly the company involved is Predator oil and gas, and they hold territory licences off the coast of Cork and in Mayo near the corrib gas field where according to the report gas is declining. Predator hope to use 86% of Corrib oil’s infrastructure to pump gas ashore. The campaign group, Not here not anywhere are egnoring Europe’s need for oil at the expense of the shocking exploitation in Yemen, Iraq, Iran and elsewhere.
