There is news of a deal between the Syrian government and Kurds living in the area. Details unclear.
The war in Syria, said to have begun in March 2011 as part of the as called Arab spring protests, is documented as ongoing. Three components seem to be or seemed to be present. A major influence is what is percieved to be the u.n., supposedly fighting the Syrian government and ISIS. Many ISIS fighters are locked up but should soon be released as part of a peace plan.
Before the war Syria’s oil industry was lucrative. Details unclear now. Poverty is reported.
