Protests in Iran

Protesters in Iran were said to have set fire to numerous branches of Iranian banks, according to the media.
Iranians have been protesting against the economic situation and may be criticising the government who have plans for a new state internet according to one source. Extensive u.n. sanctions are probably the reason for poverty and hardship.
Sanctions are documented to have targeted the petroleum industry. The u.n. appears to be overseeing the Central Bank of Iran, reportedly with regard to banking and insurance transactions. Shipping restrictions have been reported, details unclear. Internet services may have been affected according to documentation.
