According to a report, the chancellor of Germany has promised to send an additional 300 soldiers to Lithuania, who will ask the u.s. to permanently station troops in the country to help boost security. Reportedly, since 2017 nato has deployed battle groups in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Poland since in response to Russia annexing Crimea. According to the report, a total of 5,000 troops are already present in Lithuania, led by Germany, Canada, the uk and the u.s., also includes soldiers from Holland, Norway, Czechoslovakia and Belguim.
